Notice and Action Procedure — Buurted
Version 1
You are viewing a specific revision. Current version
Effective from 23 September 2026.
1. Who can report
Anyone can report content by emailing info@buurted.nl, including without a Buurted account. Signed-in users can also use the available report actions in the app. Include enough information for us to identify the content.
In immediate danger? Call 112. The report button is not an emergency service.
2. What a report should contain
So we can assess it properly, we ask for:
where the content is: a link, or the title of the listing or post;
what you believe is wrong, in your own words;
why you believe it breaches our rules or the law;
your name and contact details, so we can tell you the outcome;
a confirmation that you are reporting in good faith and that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
For reports concerning sexual abuse or exploitation of minors, you do not need to give your name or additional contact details. An email still discloses its sender address to us; do not include unnecessary identifying information. Contact the police in an emergency.
If information is missing we may ask for it. We do not simply set an incomplete report aside.
3. What happens next
Step | When |
|---|---|
Acknowledgement | As soon as reasonably possible if contact details are available; email acknowledgement may be manual. |
First assessment | Target: within 24 hours. We check whether immediate action is needed |
Final decision | As quickly as the matter allows. For a straightforward report usually within a few days; a complex matter may take longer. We keep you informed |
Outcome | You hear what we decided and why |
Reports about threats, weapons or the safety of a minor take priority over everything.
We assess reports manually. The times stated are targets, not guarantees.
4. What we can decide
Leave the content · remove the content · restrict visibility · issue a warning · temporarily restrict posting · suspend an account · close an account · report to the police or another authority.
We choose the lightest measure that fits.
5. Statement of reasons
Where we take a measure, we tell the affected person:
which content or account is affected;
what we found: the facts the decision rests on;
which rule or legal provision was applied, and why it applies;
what the measure is, how long it lasts and where it applies;
whether the decision was automated;
how to object, and what other options exist.
This applies to every measure, including small ones, except where we are not legally permitted to inform, for example where it would harm a criminal investigation.
6. Objecting
If you disagree with a decision, you can object within 6 months by replying to the message you received, or emailing info@buurted.nl.
You can object even if your account has been suspended or closed. Your ability to object does not depend on access to the app. If you cannot log in, email us.
Where possible, a different person reviews the objection. We aim to respond within 10 working days and will explain if more time is needed. If the decision was wrong, we correct it and inform the people concerned.
The reporter can also object if we decide to take no action.
7. Other options
Separately from our objection process, you can refer a dispute about a decision to an out-of-court dispute settlement body certified under Article 21 of the Digital Services Act, or to a court. This procedure does not limit that right.
8. Misuse
We act against bad-faith use of the report button: repeatedly reporting without reasonable grounds to harass someone, or systematically providing false information.
We do not act against someone reporting in good faith, even if the report ultimately leads to no measure. Please keep reporting.
9. Point of contact
Our single point of contact for authorities and users under the Digital Services Act is Buurted VOF - Head of Product, reachable at info@buurted.nl. Communication may be in Dutch or English.
10. Transparency
We keep records of reports, decisions and their handling. We provide transparency information where applicable law requires it. Contact info@buurted.nl with questions about our reporting process.
