GDPR and Your Data
Buurted is built for local marketplace activity and aims to align the service with GDPR principles such as lawfulness, transparency, purpose limitation, data minimization, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity, and accountability.
1. What Buurted processes
Buurted processes account data, profile details, buurt and approximate location data, listing content and images, favorites, chat messages, request and reservation history, transaction state changes, push token registration, activity events, moderation records, and consent settings.
2. Why Buurted processes it
Buurted processes data to provide accounts, listings, favourites, messaging, reservations, local discovery, notifications, safety and moderation, and to meet legal obligations. Optional analytics, including product analytics and sponsored-placement measurement, requires the analytics preference.
The personalisation setting currently stores your preference for future optional personalisation within Buurted. It does not currently activate a personalised recommendation engine. Your selected neighbourhood remains part of ordinary local discovery, regardless of this preference. This is not permission for tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
Buurted updates is an optional preference for Buurted's own feature announcements and promotional communications. Admin broadcast notifications are restricted to users who have enabled this preference. Necessary account, security, support and transaction communications are separate and are not disabled by declining promotional updates. References to campaigns concern these Buurted communications and our own sponsored placements, not cross-company advertising profiles or permission for advertiser tracking.
3. Lawful basis overview
- Contract or service necessity for accounts, listings, chats, requests, reservations, and transaction coordination.
- Legitimate interests for abuse prevention, product security, moderation, quality control, and limited operational analytics.
- Consent for optional analytics, personalization, and marketing preferences.
- Legal obligations where Buurted must retain or disclose records.
4. AI-assisted moderation and structured metadata
Buurted uses AI-assisted analysis to help review listing content, classify products, extract structured listing metadata, and flag moderation signals. Buurted uses these tools to improve safety, classification quality, search quality, and platform standards. AI outputs are not the only factor in moderation decisions and may be reviewed together with other platform signals such as reports, listing metadata, request behavior, and conversation context where relevant.
5. Your GDPR rights
- Access: ask what personal data Buurted holds about you.
- Rectification: ask Buurted to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: ask Buurted to delete data when there is no valid reason to keep it.
- Restriction: ask Buurted to limit processing in certain cases.
- Objection: object to certain processing based on legitimate interests.
- Portability: ask for data you provided in a structured format where applicable.
6. Deletion and retention
If you request account deletion, Buurted aims to remove or anonymize active profile data and public marketplace content that no longer needs to be retained. Some records may remain for a limited time where necessary for fraud prevention, moderation history, unresolved disputes, legal claims, or financial and transactional obligations. This can include message logs, abuse reports, reservation history, sold-state records, payment-method selections, and transaction records.
7. Activity, chat, notifications, and location
Unread badges, activity records, push notifications, and location-based discovery rely on processing account identifiers, event timestamps, push tokens, and approximate buurt information. Buurted aims to keep location handling proportionate: approximate neighborhood relevance is used in the product, while exact meeting details should be shared only when users choose to coordinate directly.
8. How to contact Buurted
